Room to Read is dedicated to building education infrastructure in developing countries. The non-profit organization has operations in many South and Southeast Asian countries, including Nepal, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Sri Lanka; and is currently expanding to Africa, with South Africa being the first country in that region.


 

Teach For America aims to end educational inequity—the reality that in the US where a child is born determines his or her educational outcomes and, in turn, life prospects. Its mission is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting the nation's most promising future leaders in the effort. Its vision is that one day, all children in the US will have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.


 

Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care in more than 60 countries. A private, non-profit organization, Doctors Without Borders was founded in 1971 as the first non-governmental organization to both provide emergency medical assistance and bear witness publicly to the plight of people it assists.
 


 

Amnesty International is an international non-governmental organization which defines its mission as "to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights."
 


 

The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) is a leading international non-governmental organization dedicated to human rights advocacy on behalf of people who experience discrimination or abuse on the basis of their actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. 

 

 

Asha for Education is a secular organization dedicated to change in India by focusing on basic education in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change.


 

Vibha's mission is to educate, empower and enable every individual who wishes to make a positive difference in the life of the underprivileged child. Founded in 1991, today Vibha has a volunteer network of 825 volunteers spread across several cities in the US and India. Till date, Vibha has supported about 190 projects in the US and India.

O Projeto Sonho atende crianças e adolescentes de 0 a 18 anos de lares e abrigos da Grande São Paulo. Seu objetivo principal é lhes proporcionar experiências essenciais para o seu desenvolvimento emocional, intelectual e motor.

Por meio de visitas mensais com atividades esportivas, culturais e educativas ocorridas durante o final de semana, crianças, adolescentes e voluntários compartilham momentos de carinho e de afeto. São momentos de dedicação exclusiva e que propiciam a vivência de experiências inéditas em suas vidas. Dessa forma, incentivamos a criatividade das crianças e dos adolescentes, com resultados positivos na tentativa de amenizar possíveis traumas emocionais. Os voluntários são pessoas dispostas e preparadas para colaborar com a construção da dignidade e da cidadania destas crianças e destes adolescentes. O trabalho e a presença dos voluntários auxiliam na criação de valores e no resgate da esperança e da auto-estima destas crianças. Como resultado dessa troca de experiências, do contato com uma nova realidade, valores e princípios positivos são construídos.
